Cropping with my little girl!

Scrapbooking just wouldn't be the same if I didn't always have my dear sweet girl either at my feet or looking at me somewhere in my cropping area! Isn't she a cutie pie!

I must have been tired when I did this one or not paying attention! I screwed up on the spelling of Cruisin but I don't care (believe it or not) I am going to leave it that way! I know there are many more mistakes that just this one in my scrapbooks!

I got another layout done tonight! I am finally working on my photos of the beach from back in October. I am slowly getting caught up. I have come to the conclusion that I take too many photos. I wouldn't want to miss anything though! LOL

Well my poor son has been sick all week with a terrible cough that is going around. He has asthma so that has complicated things more for him! I have been sitting with him and watching tv (which is one of my least favorite things to do) and have decided since it is Friday that it is now Daddy's time to sit with him. Anyways, if I watch one more TV show I think I am going to go nuts! I came back to make the following layout and found an adorable picture on my desk that my daughter painted for me. I just love my dear little ones (not so little any more)!

Some New Layouts

I thought I would share some layouts that I worked on this weekend. I didn't get much done in my scrapbooks but had a great time and that was all that mattered to me.

Long Awaited Weekend is Over - Boo Who!!!!

Well my weekend get-together with my buddies is over and we had another awesome time. We rent a lodge that is just beautiful and sits in a great mountain setting! We have gone there twice now and each time it is so much fun. We play games, have classes, eat the best meals (too much food really), visit the local scrapbook store for a fun make and take and spend way too much money at the store plus teach each other so much about EVERYTHING (even non scrapbooking things) and hopefully get a few things done other than talking and carrying on like a bunch of school girls! Our motto is "What happens at the lodge - stays at the lodge". We added an extra day this time making it a four day weekend but have come to the conclusion that is not enough either. We want to make it a week long event but fear the husbands may either disown us or just plain enjoy it way too much. We are scared to hear which they will pick so I guess we will stick with the four days. LOL There is one bad thing about our weekend - waiting till the next one - 7 months away - THAT IS WAY TO LONG!!!!!!

Loved being with you ladies and can hardly wait for our next one! Sorry we missed three of you in the group photo!

RIBBON ORGANIZATION!!! FINALLY

It took me forever to decide how to store my ribbons. I don't have a lot but I am starting to get a small collection and it was bothering me that I haven't gotten them organized yet. I love EVERYTHING organized - I am a little obsessive compulsive you could say! I was storing them in a plastic container and I hated having them on spools and always rooting around for the color I needed. Half the time I didn't even know what I already had. After looking online I saw a lady who came up with this idea (wish I could remember the site to give her credit) and I loved it and decided this would work for me. I have started to put the ribbons on cardboard sheets by color and then I will stick them in a basket and I will be able to see them easily and ALL of them without shuffling things around in a tub. I am so excited about this new organization idea. I am in the process of organizing some things for an upcoming four day crop weekend so that I can get the best out of my time there!
How they will look upright in a basket when I am finished! YEAH I can see all of them. I have a bunch more to wrap but this is going to be so worth it!

Homemade Light Box

Okay since my scrapbook area is in my basement and there is no windows, It is very hard to take good photos of the things I have made. Therefore, I decided to make a homemade light box to take photos of the items I make and believe it or not it works pretty good - a lot cheaper than buying one! It only took a few minutes to make with a box, white tissue paper and some tape!

My daughter wanted me to share her gift box that she made for her friend using the Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More! I think it turned out cute!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

Here is my latest card I made for Valentine's Day and my first attempt using string art - love the neat and different look of it. It makes me feel like a kid playing with the Spirograph again. The inside will say "You hold the key to my heart!"
