Card Challenge Day 29 - IN PIECES

Todays challenge was to use an image on the outside of the card and then the same image in a different way on the inside of the card! I didn't have much time to make a card today so I cheated and used an already colored in digital stamp image to make this one. For the inside, you can't tell from the photo but it is in three pieces - both leaves are separate pieces and then the flowers are still connected as one piece. This digital stamp was another freebie that can be downloaded on Marjie's Malarkies blog!
Outside of card:Inside of card:

Bunny Resting Inside A Flower Pot!

One last file before I head out for a week long Easter vacation with family! This one seemed appropriate since the poor Easter Bunny gets very tired over the holidays - he decided to curl up in this flower pot and take a rest! Something I would like to do at the moment but can't! LOL

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter with your family and friends!

Card Challenge Day 28 - CERTAIN SENTIMENT

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to use the sentiment "Hang in There". I chose to use this free digi stamp found on the wonderful blog of JustYolie. The shape that I used to cut around the stamp was from Penny Duncan's site. She has some awesome Nesting shapes in SVG form that you can also download for free. Thanks to both of these very talented ladies for all your great files and hard work. Another big thank you to 365 Cards for all the great challenges!

Birds are chirping!

The birds are chirping that Spring is here so why not make a bird cut file to welcome the season. VOILA! I think I messed up the eyes just a bit - seems a little crossed eyed to me - oh well - there is your laugh for the day too! HA, HA

The SVG file for this can be downloaded here.

Card Challenge Day 28 - SUPER SKETCHY SUNDAY

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to use the following sketch to make our card:

Card Challenge Day 27 - I'm Touched REDONE CORRECTLY

Okay I realized that I messed this challenge up so I had to make another card to redeem myself. Why I chose this one is beyond me. The stitching was a royal pain in the butt but I love how it turned out so I guess it was worth the effort. Now I hope I did this challenge correctly this time around!

Card Challenge Day 27 - I'm Touched

Today's challenge at 365 cards required you to have at least 8 elements (not counting the cardstock or background paper). All those elements must overlap with at least two other elements! Here is what I used (sure hope I did this correctly):

1. Bunny paper piecing with inked edges
2. Heart brad for bunnies nose
3. Pearls on the Easter egg (3 rows)
4. Star brads on the wheels (2)
5. Rhinestones on the star brads (2)
6. String fiber on top of cart
7. Sand for the road the bunny cart is on
8. Grasses (3 rows)
9. Butterfly with stickles

Hopefully this shows a little more detail since my camera is taking horrible pictures lately! If you missed downloading the files for this bunny in the wagon, you can find them here in one of my earlier posts.

Card Challenge Day 26 - Card Recipe

The recipe for todays challenge at 365 Cards was as follows:

Ingredients:

5 x 5 card
3 circles
2 squares
Ribbon
Sentiment of your choice

We were not allowed to stray from the recipe above - use ONLY those ingredients. I did it but I wanted to so bad to add brads or some Stickles to the flowers centers. I did contain myself though and I still like the card anyways! I have never done a 5 x 5 card before but I love it - I can see myself using that size again. I takes on a whole new look!

Card Challenge Day 25 - Do It Yourself

Todays challenge at 365 cards was a reminder to us all that you do not have to own store embellishments - you can create them yourselves.

We were to take a brad or a pearl and add some glue and then some glitter to make some glittery goodness for our cards!

I made my first step card for this challenge and added a photo of my dear niece for her Easter card! I followed Dawn's awesome tutorial for making this card found here. I used the Cinnamon colored Stickles to add the glittery bling on my brads. I used two brads for the centers of both flowers (the one in her hair and the one on the sentiment)! Just thought I would point them out since the photos are not too good!

Card Challenge Day 24 - Terrific Ten

At 365 Cards today, the challenge was to use TEN different patterned papers all on one card. What a great way to use up some scraps! I have never used that many patterns on one project before but I think this one turned out pretty nice with them. I ended up using 12 patterned papers and two plain colored cardstock along with the patterned ribbon! I think I am going to add the sentiment "Celebrate Life"! What do you think?

Somebunny loves you!

I needed a cute file to use on my hubbies Easter card for this year and this is what I plan on using. I just need to go get some of that puff paint to use on the cotton tails. I will probably title the card Somebunny Loves You!

Card Challenge Day 23 - Stencil It

Today at 365 Cards, all we had to do was use a stencil on our cards. I had a tree cut from from my cricut that I inked around to give the effect of the outline of a tree top on the background of the card - sort of a reverse type stenciling. I then used the Bird from the Nature-Flights of Fancy stencils that I had from Tattered Angels. I glimmer misted the bird stencil with Patina and then used a little Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to add just a hint of some more color! I curled the tip of the beak up and the tips of the wings - wish the picture was better, it looks so much nicer in person. I know the card is rather simple but I like how it turned out!

What the tree looked like on the background doing a reverse stenciling type effect! Instead of wasting the glimmer mist spray left on the stenciling, I made another image with it. I just flipped the stencil over and made another bird. I will be using it on another project in the future I am sure!

Monday, March 22, 2010

Just sharing a quick sympathy card that I made for a friend! While making this I realized I have no black and white paper - how can that be? I guess that is a good excuse to be heading to the craft store in the near future! The free digi stamp that I used can be downloaded here from the Digital Doodling Blog!

Card Challenge Day 22 - Movie Monday

Use the poster above or anything about the movie to create a card. You could also use the animated version if you wanted.

Now todays challenge at 365 Cards was super hard for me - I had no earthy idea what to do. I saw the old version of the movie but missed going with my family to see the new version (was away scrapbooking)! I wasn't going to do this one because it has been a long day and I am very tired and feeling lazy about thinking up something but I had to keep up my record of completing each card - true dedication you know! LOL I started off by printing a clipart image of the rabbit and then coloring him in with the gamsol and Prisma colored pencils. I printed some of the script from the movie on the brown paper which was originally going to be my background paper but then I decided against it and just used a cut strip of it. I just had to incorporate the rabbits famous saying and decided it would make a good belated birthday card to go along with the "late" theme. You may not be able to see it well but I used the glossy accents for the watch face and the rabbits glasses too.

Top Trio - YAHOOOOOOO!

WOW - I am super excited this morning. I just found out I was in the top trio this week at 365 cards for my noise maker card! I can't believe it. There are so many talented people with such lovely cards on there. In case you missed it, you can view it here. I am going to go do the happy dance now - what a great way to start a day!

Card Challenge Day 21 Super Sketchy Sunday

Today at 365 cards we were to use this sketch for our card.

I needed a teen birthday card so this is the card that I made. I used the pop dots to lift up the ear plugs, music note, adjustment thingy and round middle button! The Ipod and music note are from the Paisley cricut cartridge.

Boy Swinging Silhouette - REQUEST

I had a request for a little boy swinging like the file of the little girl I posted a few days ago.

Card Challenge Day 20 - Let's Make Some Noise

We were to put something on our cards that when you shake them they make noise. I had no idea what I was going to do! Then I saw the little round container that my cricut blades come in and I thought pillows - why I thought that is beyond me. I cut them in half and away I went. I have a friend that has just moved into a new house and I needed to make her and her family a card so I thought how can I incorporate pillows into a card and this is what I came up with. The pillows have the crystal sprinkles inside them and MAKE A NOISE when you shake the card. VOILA!Those who have the Cricut and would like the cut files for the furniture can download them below:

Gate Card Template

I created this card template for your use. I can see so many uses for this one! I did include extra picket fence in case you would like to make your fence a different color than the background. When the template is spread out lengthwise to the 12 x 12 mat, the size of the card ends up being approx. 5-1/2 x 5 inches.

Card Challenge Day 19 COTTON

Today at 365 cards we were to think cotton to inspire our cards. Well this is my first all white card with hints of silver. I used silver to mat, some silver in the ribbon and I silver embossed the sentiment.

Card Challenge Day 18 - PLENTIFUL PATTERNS

Today challenge for 365 cards threw me for a loop just a little. You were to use at least three of the following patterns of paper:

Plaid, Paisley, Gingham, Houndstooth, Toile

Not my usual mix of patterns but then again that is why it is called a challenge! LOL I had to first figure out if I even had any of these papers and if I did what is the chances of them matching? Luckily, I had some that worked pretty good together. The Houndstooth paper was a little too bold with a brown and white color so I took some Chestnut Roan ink to it to tone the white down. Inking it made a big difference - it made it coordinate a little better with the other papers. For the Toile paper I just cut an oval image out of that and made it my main image on the card.

Happy Easter

Here is a little chick I made for you to use on those Easter layouts or projects. The whites of the eyes are not included in the file. They are just easier to draw in with a white Signo pen.

Card Challenge Day 17 - TWINCHIES

Happy St. Patricks Day to everyone!

I hope you all have the "Luck of the Irish"!

Todays challenge at 365 cards was a Twinchies challenge. Your card could be a Twinchie or you could put two or three or more on your card. There also needs to be a decorated piece of cardstock or something that is 2 x 2 inches. Here is the card that I came up with:

Another card challenge

When Jane commented on one of posts the other day asking me to join in a challenge over at Just Scraps, I thought well why not. The challenge was to use Red, Black and White all over your card or layout project. I loved the looks of these colors together but these are not colors I would regularly make a card with. I love how it turned out though! The digi stamp was a freebie over at Digital Doodling and the scalloped template behind the stamp was from Penny at Penny Duncan's Creations. Penny is a wonderful person with many great free SVG files and tutorials on her site!

Card Challenge Day 16 OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Todays challenge at 365 cards was Opposites Attract. We were to feature a pair of opposites on our card. The baby on the card can be found on Denise's blog. She is one talented lady with some awesome free files. The pregnant mommy file can be downloaded below:

Card Challenge Day 15 - AD INSPIRED

Todays challenge at 365 cards was to use the following photo as your inspiration for making a card:

The card that I made for this challenge also works for the MOJO Monday Sketch:

In case you can not tell, this is a tipped over basket of Easter Eggs. I tried to stamp the eggs with designs to replica the eggs in the 365 cards challenge photo. For some reason, I can not get the photograph to show the green stamping on the eggs. The blue is showing up great but not the green.

Grillin Time

Here is a layout I just worked on. The title I made myself but the grill is from another blog and I am so sorry to that person but I can not remember who they are. If anyone knows please let me know so that I can give them credit. The GRILLIN TIME can be downloaded below. I did also include in the file an extra spatula, fork, salt and pepper shaker in case you would like to cut them in a different color. I personally was too lazy to do that but I am sure it would look nice!
