Okay I couldn't stand not working on my stuff at night any longer and tonight I am not tired from the remodeling stuff all day so I decided to start working on a word book I started for Christmas. It is for my mother-in-law from the kids but since I never finished it, it is now for Easter. This is my first word book. I have another one started for my mom. Hopefully I will post that in the next couple of days!

REMODELING

Having been doing much scrapbooking or cardmaking here lately. I have a funny story! Me and five other girlfriends tood a road trip to head to several scrapbook stores - had a wonderful time. Our last stop was Ollies and one of the ladies found a K and company beautiful paper pack for I think it was $5. Well we harrassed her because she wouldn't share and that wasn't fair that was the only one and we wanted one too. LOL She started feeling bad about having the only paper pack and when she came home she went to the local Ollies to see if she could find us one - your a sweetie Ann. They didn't have any but she did find 300 sheets of K and Company paper in a cute box for $20. We let her off the hook this time and we all rushed out to get one before the last seven packs were gone. (I love their paper and this pack is awesome). Well while I was at Ollies my daughter found a comforter that she fell in love with. YAHOO - my daughter will never change anything and detests any time of change. Matter of fact she cried when I painted my bedroom a different color. Anyways I told her I would purchase this comforter for her if she would let me remove the wallpaper (baby looking for her 11 year old age) in her room and paint it. I told her she could go and chose some things for her room and everything. She said yes - I had been trying to get her to do this for the past four years! YES ARE YOU SERIOUS! In pure joy we headed to Michaels to buy some things with a beachy theme. I was still not believing this. The next morning I woke up and was at the tool rental place by 7:30 a.m. to get a wallpaper steamer. I was not going to give her anytime to change her mind. I have been hard at work on her room for the past two days. I figured since everything was in disarray on that end of the house, why not just head to the kids bathroom and strip the wallpaper in there. So scrapbooking and cardmaking are not quite a priority right now so please be patience with me since I may not be posting as much in the near future. I hate things disorganized so this project will need to get done ASAP (those who know me understand)!! plus my kids have no bathroom to use right now. HIP HIP HOORAY that stupid wallpaper is down (what was I thinking ten years ago?) When I get the urge again I still have wallpaper in the master and spare bathrooms plus my sons room that needs to be taken down. I didn't want to put the entire house in chaos all at once! LOL So the moral to this story is don't let your friends get a paper pack and less they are going to share because it could change your life - at least for a week or so! giggle

My daughters room before the hurricane (aka MOMMY) comes through!

How all her walls looked yesterday by 2:30 pm

Hubby decided to come home early and help me out and this is what it is starting to look like now! Toilet in the hallway!

Walls have gotten spackled (needs a couple more coats) and are almost ready to be sanded and then painted. Going to pick the paint tonight!

Looks like I will have more pages to scrapbook after this mess is over! It will be worth it in the end! My goal is to have no wallpaper in the house at all!

Hiking

Back in January we decided to take the dog and the kids hiking. We wanted to get out for the day. It was a cold day but not quite as bitter as the usual days during that time. We had a great hike and it felt good getting some fresh air. The place we went hiking was straight up - I thought I was going to die. Years ago we did this all the time but I have put on quite a bit of weight now and it was very exhausting. Back to the treadmill!

Easter Card

I made my first easter card last night! I need to get on the ball - Easter is right around the corner!

Making History!

The opposing page to this is our local newspaper with the news that Obama had won!

Happy New Year 2009!

We had our traditional family party at our house this year! We usually have friends over but decided that it would be nice to just have family this time. We had a great time playing games, goofing off and just enjoyed each others company. At midnight we always are the loudest house in the neighborhood. We bangs our pots and pans and blow our horns - the kids love it!

Just Because!

I decided to make my first tri-fold card tonight. I was excited that I was able to use my scor-pal again. I hate when I buy things and they just sit.

Rock Stars!

My kids got the Rock Band for Christmas and the whole family had a wonderful time with it! We kept taking turns singing, drumming and playing the guitar! It is so much fun but one thing is for sure that I will never beat anyone! I need lots of practice for this game! LOL

Christmas Dinner

Here is my latest two page layout from Christmas Dinner. My kids surprised everyone with a dessert (I didn't even know what it was). We all were very anxious to see what they made. They were very proud of themselves and couldn't wait for everyone to finish dinner so that they could serve their surprise! The ice cream ornaments were delicious and turned out so cute!

Happy Holidays!

The other day a fellow scrapbook friend of mine asked if I had ever used my stamps for my scrapbook albums and I said no I never considered it. So I decided I would use my pine branch and pine cone stamps on this layout for us decorating our Christmas tree. I know it is very basic but I kind of like it! I just may have to start using more stamping in my albums!

Gingerbread Time!

The kids, DH and I always build a gingerbread house each year. We have so much fun so this year we decided to add another one. We did a tree and a house! My camera batteries went dead while we were decorating the house and I never did remember to go back and get a finished picture of it! I have been slacking on taking pictures lately! I don't really like this layout but I guess you can't like them all. It is just missing something - didn't turn out the way I wanted it to!

Giving Thanks!

Here is my layout from Thankgiving. I was so shocked when I realized that I had only taken two photos that day - what was wrong with me?

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well I turned the Big 40 in November. I still feel like I am 16 but my body keeps telling me different. When asked if this age bothers me I say "Heck NO it is just a number"! I honestly don't think any birthday will ever bother me. We are all growing old at the same rate aren't we? I will say that my son turning "13" bothered me more than anything - that means he is growing up and I HATE it! I wish I could keep both my kids young for ever!

Beach Layouts are DONE!

Well I did another challenge and I am finally done with the beach photos. I don't know about everyone else but after doing the same vacation over and over you begin to get sick of scrapbooking them. However, I would hate to miss a shot of anything so with that being said, I will continue to do more and more beach photos in the future I am sure! It took me nine two page spreads to finish just one vacation (4 days only) now is that too many photos or what! LOL

Poolside Pals

Here is another layout of the kids enjoying the pool at the condo we rent at the beach. I am not to thrilled with this page but when I journal it I guess it will all come together. It is just missing something - way to plain!

I only have one more two page layout to do and my beach pictures will be caught up. Then I can move on to November 2008 photos - YEAH!!!!!

Happy 87th Birthday Pap!

Here is a card I made for my grandfather who will be turning 87 on Thur., March 12. You would never know he is turning that old - God has surely blessed him with good health!

C & O Canal Tow Path

Here is another layout using a challenge with this page map on the Cricut MB. These are great for giving you new ideas when you brain is just not working! I used my newly purchased Safari Chic paper pack on this one! I need to journal it yet!

Fun on the Boardwalk

Well this is a plain layout but most of mine are! I took Okie's challenge on the Cricut MB to make this layout. Here was the page map we were to somewhat follow! More of these great layout maps can also be found on www.pagemaps.com. There are layout and card ideas for you to use! I print them each month for future references!
All I need to do is my journaling yet but other than that it is done. My DH would kill me if he knew I posted this photo of him online. He is nuts anyways - never a dull moment with him! I used my new Chocolate Box color core cardstock and sanded it. I just love the color core papers. You can do so much with them and always get a different outcome!

More Beach Layouts

Slowly but surely I am getting caught up on my beach photos from back in October 2008. I would have gotten more done tonight but I went back and journaled over 20 some pages that I had let go. It feels so good gettings things caught up and in order! Too bad it never lasts - I always take more and more photos!

Finally got a Score-Pal

I have been watching for the Scor-Pal to go on sale at a good price for over two months. Well my time came - It went on sale for $34 with free shipping and boom I ordered it. It arrived the day before I was leaving for my retreat so I didn't get to use it. Last night I decided it was time to get it out and break it in. I had to make a thank card from our group to the guy who designed our group shirts so I decided to test it out on his card. I love how easy it is to use and can see endless possibilities with it.
