Card Challenge Day 26 - Card Recipe

The recipe for todays challenge at 365 Cards was as follows:

Ingredients:

5 x 5 card
3 circles
2 squares
Ribbon
Sentiment of your choice

We were not allowed to stray from the recipe above - use ONLY those ingredients. I did it but I wanted to so bad to add brads or some Stickles to the flowers centers. I did contain myself though and I still like the card anyways! I have never done a 5 x 5 card before but I love it - I can see myself using that size again. I takes on a whole new look!

Card Challenge Day 23 - Stencil It

Today at 365 Cards, all we had to do was use a stencil on our cards. I had a tree cut from from my cricut that I inked around to give the effect of the outline of a tree top on the background of the card - sort of a reverse type stenciling. I then used the Bird from the Nature-Flights of Fancy stencils that I had from Tattered Angels. I glimmer misted the bird stencil with Patina and then used a little Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to add just a hint of some more color! I curled the tip of the beak up and the tips of the wings - wish the picture was better, it looks so much nicer in person. I know the card is rather simple but I like how it turned out!

What the tree looked like on the background doing a reverse stenciling type effect! Instead of wasting the glimmer mist spray left on the stenciling, I made another image with it. I just flipped the stencil over and made another bird. I will be using it on another project in the future I am sure!

Card Challenge Day 18 - PLENTIFUL PATTERNS

Today challenge for 365 cards threw me for a loop just a little. You were to use at least three of the following patterns of paper:

Plaid, Paisley, Gingham, Houndstooth, Toile

Not my usual mix of patterns but then again that is why it is called a challenge! LOL I had to first figure out if I even had any of these papers and if I did what is the chances of them matching? Luckily, I had some that worked pretty good together. The Houndstooth paper was a little too bold with a brown and white color so I took some Chestnut Roan ink to it to tone the white down. Inking it made a big difference - it made it coordinate a little better with the other papers. For the Toile paper I just cut an oval image out of that and made it my main image on the card.

Card Challenge Day 17 - TWINCHIES

Happy St. Patricks Day to everyone!

I hope you all have the "Luck of the Irish"!

Todays challenge at 365 cards was a Twinchies challenge. Your card could be a Twinchie or you could put two or three or more on your card. There also needs to be a decorated piece of cardstock or something that is 2 x 2 inches. Here is the card that I came up with:

Card Challenge Day 13 - WHOLE NEW DIMENSION

Todays card challenge at 365 cards was to take an image and do just a bit of paper piecing in order to raise some portion of the image to give it dimension. I decided to use this FREE tulip digi stamp download that can be found here.

Card Challenge Day 11 - LOVELY LANDSCAPE

Todays challenge was to make a card with patterned paper (no solid background) with an outdoor theme. This card I made was very simple but I wanted it to be since the stamp leads you to think SERENITY (at least in my opinion)! The stamp was from the Stampin Up collection Summer by the Sea. The stamp didn't show enough of the boat so I had my wonderful hubby who is quite the drawer add to the image. You can't notice it much in the photo but the image is raised with 3D Dots.

Card Challenge Day 10 - WACKY COLOR WEDNESDAY

Todays wacky Wednesday color challenge over at 365 Cards was to use the color combo of Orange, Blue and Purple on a card.

I decided to use the new Floaty Frog file from Lisa's Precious Piecings which is the featured file at the moment. I then decided the card looked like a pool so why not put purple lane lines in. I like how it turned out! I spent alot more time on it then I had hoped however! Oh well, it was so much fun!

The lane lanes are an svg file but I can not remember who they were from to give that person credit - sorry! The beach ball was taken from the Cricut cartridge of Lifes A Beach.

Card Challenge Day 9 - SONG INSPIRED

What a great challenge to one of my son's favorite songs. He sings it all the time around the house and I can just hear him now. LOL We were to use this song by Louis Armstrong "What a Wonderful World" as our inspiration for making a card.

The SVG file for this can be downloaded here.

The MTC file for this can be downloaded here.

Card Challenge Day 1 - 4

When of my girlfriends challenged each of us in my group of scrapbook friends (Ravenous Red Squirrels) to do the 365 Cards Challenge I knew I had to try it. The challenge had already started and was at Day 3 so I knew I had some catching up to do but I thought it would be fun and would definitely keep my card supply plentiful as well as keeping me motivated! I decided to start with Day 3 - String Art and here is what I came up with:For Day 2 Circle, Silver, Pearl I came up with this:For Day 4-White Space - I came up with this:The graduation cap can be downloaded here in svg form.

Here is what I came up with using the colors Dark Brown, Light Brown, Blue, Red and White for Day 1:

MOJO Monday

Boy what a long day - planned on Christmas shopping and cleaning the house today and ended up spending the entire day at the hospital. My husband fell about 12 feet off of a roof this morning - he landed on his feet - thank the good Lord for protecting him! He was admitted to the hospital with a very badly broken heel (found out after waiting six hours). The other foot is okay but is really badly bruised. They did a Cat Scan on top of the xrays and now want him to get a second opinion! He is probably coming home tomorrow which I have no idea how that is going to be since he is in some terrible pain. They want him to wait until the swelling goes down in order to have surgery on it - I have never seem a body part swell as much as his poor foot - I couldn't even look at it anymore it was making me sick. He is a contractor so this is going to kill him to be laying around especially since he is in the middle of trying to get a triplex under roof before winter comes. Another blessing though is that he has some wonderful guys that work for him that will be stepping up to the plate and getting the roof done for him. Mentally right now I am about drained for the day but decided to do a card for Mojo Monday's Challenge. Hope you enjoy it - heading to bed! NIGHT
